Spring time in VT and NY for Small Mouth Bass, its just a lot of fun!! This year has been a little different than previous years we have experienced. On opening day the water was just about to have perfect flows, despite the cold temps I managed 3 large SMBS on streamers. However for the next few weeks this is as close to perfect as we would get. Heavy rains in the area spiked the CFS to over 2,500. Once I finally returned I settled on trying it at 800 CFS. Though it was slightly high when I got in the water, an hour and a half later after finding some fish downstream I was able to get to my favorite position and have an absolute blast for the next hour. Black and olive Wooly Buggers and assorted top water flies were on the menu. The picture above was the first on top water of the year. A no doubter!! Have fun out there yall!!
